This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably skilled and experienced person to join the Resources and Sustainability team where you will be required to provide plant operations in road construction, maintenance work and labouring duties under remote supervision as directed.

Key responsibilities of this role include the following:
Technical skills in heavy mechanical plant operations.
Correctly carry out a "pre-start" safety check list.
Accurate completion of fault report sheets.
Carry out daily general labouring duties in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
Operate small plant safely and only after being inducted in the proper use of this plant.

The successful applicant will have/bring:
Current Queensland driver's licence, heavy rigid.
Certificate of competency relevant to plant including grader.
Current card for General Construction Induction.
Operation of small plant and hand held power tools.
Advanced knowledge of road construction and road maintenance procedures, relevant to urban and rural roads.
Substantial experience in operating heavy mechanical plant for construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
Substantial experience and knowledge of plant operations in use of grader and/or excavator and/or mobile crane.
Substantial experience and knowledge of plant operations in the use of backhoe and/or roller, front end loader, tractor and slasher or other attached implements.

Conditions of employment will be in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with the remuneration will be $57,388 per annum.
